Two brothers, both son's of New York's chief of police, couldn't be less alike. One is a decorated Captain who is a crusader against New York's worst drug traffickers.
The other is a promising young club manager who has been working his way up the ladder of organized crime. As their paths cross, we find out whether they will battle each other or unite for a common cause. It is an interesting story not quite achieving the level of family saga.
We Own the Night smacks of Hill Street Blues, is set in the 80's, is a decent, entertaining, albeit gritty, violent film that never lets you lower your guard but also never quite reaches its full potential, delivers on the promis of the trailer, or otherwise distinguishes itself.
The last moment of the film is however, a nice touch.
